Chandigarh:- Haryana Chief Electoral Officer and Principal Secretary Anurag Agarwal says that according to the instructions of the Election Commission of India, all the political parties of the state should appoint their booth level agents and on January 1, April, July and October 2023. Show full cooperation in the special review campaign of photo voter lists being run from November 9, assuming the qualifying date.
Lower voter ratio according to population
The Chief Electoral Officer was presiding over the meeting organized with the office bearers of different political parties. He said that along with Gurugram of Haryana, the proportion of voters according to population is less in many districts. These include women, youth and people with disabilities. There is a need to pay more attention to such districts and assembly constituencies so that the names of all those voters who have completed the age of 18 years can be included in the photo voter list.
Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will be appointed
The Chief Electoral Officer said that according to the instructions issued by the Election Commission, this time it has been decided to appoint Assistant Electoral Registration Officer in each assembly constituency. The Assistant Voting Officers will go to colleges and schools and get the names of the youth of 18 to 19 years of age registered to register their names in the voter list. Apart from this, special attention will also be given to the youth who are between the age of 17 to 18 years and will also get them registered. He said that such youth would fill up their Form 6 and as soon as they attain the age of 18 years, their names would be entered in the Revise Voter Lists to be issued on the due date.
Special review campaign will run for four days
The Chief Electoral Officer says that claims and objections can be filed till December 8 against the photo voter lists prepared on November 9. Apart from this, special campaign will be run on Saturday and Sunday on 19th and 20th November and 3rd and 4th December. On this day, the booth level officers will add and remove the names of new voters in the voter lists by sitting in the designated polling stations. The final photo voter list will be published on January 5, 2023, after the settlement of claims and objections coming by the due date, on 26 December 2022.
